Around the World in 80 Days is a classic fiction book by Jules Verne, first published in 1872. The version that I read here is the abridged version of the book, rewritten by Deanna McFadden in 2007. The story revolves around Phileas Fogg, a gentleman who made a bet to his colleagues that he could travel around the world in 80 days. Together with his new butler, Passepartout, he started his journey and greeted by all sort kind of challenges and troubles.
Deanna's version of the book is an exciting writing that anyone could enjoy. Filled with beautiful illustrations, the book delivers the story in an easily understood language and straight-to-the-point storytelling. More than what the writers intended, this book is the perfect introduction of classic books not just for children, but also for adults.
