Journal #54

Note to self (or anyone's learning React.js): Never ever use Draft.js ever again for whatever reason. It's a disaster of a library. Use the wysiwyg version if you must.

They should make it illegal to make an official library that is such a nightmare to use. At least, put on a warning in the top of the Readme.md that says: "WARNING: You'll waste 4 hours trying to figure out how to do practically any basic stuff in any normal text editor. You want to bold your text? Oh yeah, fuck you and read this overly-complicated styling objects first, you piece of shit."

I just want to align my text to the center, please. I'm not asking you to make my parents love me.

Anyway. Maybe you'll notice how vulgar I've become in this Journal. Pardon me for the language, but this is how I truly felt about the aforementioned library. And also I'm very energetic right now because I just had my sweet tasty caffeine juice in my stomach. However, I'll try containing myself a little bit better from here on.

Because this Journal had become a monthly thing, I think I'm going to write a little longer than usual. Take your seat and grab your girlfriend's husband, gentleman, it's storytelling-journalling-whatever-this-is time.

Yeay.

I had a blast of a month this June. I'm working on a project that's on somewhat new territory for me, which is React.js. It's really challenging to create quite a large project just within a month. I love working myself to the bone because then I would forget how miserable my real life is.

Am I going to make a self-deprecating joke every 50 words in this journal? Hell, yeah I am.

I also finally finished Circe. It was as touching as The Song of Achilles. I hope the writer makes more of these. It's always fun to see mythical Gods being an asshole to each other for every tiny reason possible. Also got my hand on the Children of Time's sequel. I've read the first 200 pages. It's pretty promising. About time someone writes about sentient cephalopods. I just hope they don't become humanoid and learn to play a clarinet. Haha. Good joke, loser.

Also, by the way, next month's Book Reviews would be about The Song of Achilles by my new favorite author, Madeline Miller, and one other fantasy book. Do read my shitty reviews when they're out. Appreciate it.

I also wrote several React Notes this month. It's actually for my previously mentioned project's repository wiki. I just thought that they could make great content. Also, apparently Bitbucket's markdown is really boring to look at. It's more pleasant to see it in this blog.

There's also Replicant. It was really fun when I started with it, but I lost interest as time passes. The Todoist one would probably be the last one. For now, at least.

My aunt used to water the flowers on my house's second floor. After she moved, the flowers rarely bloomed again, except when it's raining season. Yesterday it started blooming again after I had decided to start watering them again. Crazy how plants work, isn't it.

That's about everything I want to share. See you next month. I'll think of you with a smile on my face the next time I gaze upon the probably-dead stars in cosmos.

Bye.
