Treasure Island - Robert Louis Stevenson

Fifteen men on the Dead Man's Chest Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum! Drink and the devil had done for the rest Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!

Treasure Island is a classic adventure book by Robert Louis Stevenson, first published in 1882. The story follows Jim Hawkins, son of an innkeeper, who finds a treasure map of a deceased pirate. Then, he together with his friends decide to embark on a quest to the island where the treasure is located with their ship, Hispaniola. The adventure is not easy as there are other interests among their own crews and they know a mutiny is inevitable.

It's easy to fall in love with the thrill and adventurous feelings that the book offer. Even though the main plot is disappointingly too simple, the writing successfully captured an engaging and memorable atmosphere of the journey. Each of character's decision and desire manages to coalesce into one solid plot line and series of interesting conflicts.

Although this book quite hard to read, it's definitely worth the time.
