150cm Life by Naoko Takagi. This book immediately caught my attention when I was searching for new books in a book store. And as I bought and finished reading it, I was not disappointed.
This comic essay is about the life story of the author, Naoko Takagi. Since a little kid, Naoko was always shorter than her peers. And it was not getting any different when she got older. She got stuck in her 150-cm-height.
From struggling to pick things up from top shelves to getting used to people treating her like a kid, Naoko tells her entire life into one funny comic book about her dealing with her height.
The illustrations were made by Naoko herself, and it's really great and match the story perfectly. Personally, this book is very relatable and, frequently, got me smiling and went like: "Oh, I've been there too myself."
This book is a fun short adventure of the author's life that I believe a lot of people can relate to. More importantly, this book reminds us-little guys-that being short has its perks too.
