The Hollow - Agatha Christie

What alchemy there was in human beings.

The Hollow is Agatha Christie's detective novel starring the famous detective, Hercule Poirot. The story follows the death of John Christow on his vacation at a place called the Hollow. Poirot arrived exactly at a moment before John's passing. There are other people there too. But the main attention was his wife who's holding a revolver.

This is probably not the author's most epic story that blows your mind with a giant plot twist. I can name a lot of her books that are better with that aspect. But, to me, this book presents a really unique and self-aware idea for its genre. The author really knows how to tell a story that utilizes the audience's way of thinking when reading a detective story. (Sorry if this makes little sense lol.) Just like the characters in this story, the audience's perception of the case is being manipulated completely by other people. Just amazing.

Also, as usual, this book has tons of great characters. And interesting love stories, as well. An overall pleasure to read.
