Season of Storms - Andrzej Sapkowski

A story is a largely false account of largely trivial events, fed to us by historians who are largely idiots.

Season of Storms is a novel of The Witcher series by Polish author, Andrzej Sapkowski that is first published in 2013. The story takes place between most short stories from The Last Wish and The Witcher short story. The book revolves around Geralt of Rivia whose precious swords are stolen from him. His effort to recover his swords proven to be a difficult one as a chain of unfortunate events keep blocking his way toward his goal.

This book is a delightful ride from start to finish. There are a lot of things going on in the story but they're placed neatly under one main plot, which is Geralt's lost swords. The writer painlessly shifts from one place to another place, from one quest to another one. It seems all over the place at first, but somehow it still works quite nicely in the end.

Overall, Season of Storms is a worthy addition to the series. It maintains the series' signature storytelling while successfully expanding its world and characters to previously uncharted areas. Definitely worth a read!
